Some of the greatest words of love in Scripture are found in 1 John 4:7-10 - "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God & knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one & only Son into the world that we might live through Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us & sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."
The topic of God's love is truly an overwhelming subject. There is so much that the Bible has to say about the love of God that I doubt anyone has ever come close to fully comprehending it. So I will simply quote something that A.W. Tozer once said, "I can no more do justice to this awesome and wonder-filled topic than a child can grasp a star. Still, by reaching toward the star the child may call attention to it and even indicate the direction one must look to see it. And so, I stretch my heart toward the high, shining love of God so that we may be encouraged to look up and have hope."

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star

The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin

And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
