Our Mission
Every church needs to have a purpose statement that answers the question, "why do we exist?" At 316 Church, we filter every idea, program, and budget request through our purpose statement. If what we lan doesn't help us meet our purpose, then we don't do it.
Our purpose at 316 Church is summarized in a single statement:
"Connecting people to God through faith, hope, and love"
We value...
Faith - We are committed to the Bible, through which God has revealed Himself and called us to trust Him. We are passionate about helping people trust in Jesus Christ and "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." 2 Peter 3:21
The faith part of our mission is best experienced through our small groups
Hope - We are convinced the gospel of Jesus Christ is filled with hope for the present and the future. We are passionate about communicating this good news with as many people as possible.
The Hope part of our mission is best experienced in our weekend worship
Love - We are overwhelmed with the love God displayed through Jesus Christ. We are passionate about loving God and one another.
The Love part of our mission is best experienced through volunteering and serving in various ministry areas
We value faith, hope, and love. When these values are woven into the fabric of 316 Church we will see the ultimate value...changed lives!
We dream of...
A church with a come-as-you-are culture where people are welcome and feel comfortable, no matter their background to experience God's grace and truth through creative services with messages that are biblical and practical and music that is modern and relevant.
A church that loves children and builds a strong spiritual foundation for a successful life. Where students have a blast in a dynamic youth ministry that meets them right where they are and lets them know they matter to God. Where families are healed and marriages are strengthened.
A church where people gather in homes all over our area to study the Bible and grow in their walk with God and in their friendships with each other in relationships that will last a lifetime.
A church that is serving our community and lifting people out of hopeless situations into a life of hope and purpose.
A church that is raising up a generation of godly leaders who will influence our nation.
A church that is going around the world to spread the Good News of Jesus.
A church that starts many other churches to impact South Hampton Roads for Christ.
A church full of committed followers of Christ who will do whatever it takes to connect people with God through faith, hope, and love.
This is the kind of church we desire to be. And by God's grace we will see our dream come true for God's glory!
