Our Strategic Discipling Process
At 316 Church, we filter every idea, program, and budget request through our strategy of disciple making. If what we plan doesn't help us make disciples, then it's unnecessary and we don't do it. Our purpose at 316 Church is summarized in a single statement: "Love God, Love People, Serve the World". Our mission as a church is to glorify God by leading people to love God, love others, and serve the world. We have created one environment for each phase of our mission designed to encourage, nurture, and grow that phase.
The environment we have created to bring about the 'love God' aspect is our large group worship environment held on Sunday mornings. The environment we have created to bring about the 'love others' aspect is our small group environment held in various locations throughout the week. The environment we have created to bring about the 'serve the world' aspect is our volunteer service opportunities done on Sunday mornings and also throughout the week inside the church and outside the church. Our goal is to work hard to sharpen each of these environments so that each one of them is functioning in a biblical way. When that is happening we see the ultimate value...changed lives!
A church with a come-as-you-are culture where people are welcome and feel comfortable, no matter their background to experience God's grace and truth through creative services with messages that are biblical and practical and music that is modern and relevant.
A church that loves children and builds a strong spiritual foundation for a successful life. Where students have a blast in a dynamic youth ministry that meets them right where they are and lets them know they matter to God. Where families are healed and marriages are strengthened.
A church where people gather in homes all over our area to study the Bible and grow in their walk with God and in their friendships with each other in relationships that will last a lifetime.
A church that is serving our community and lifting people out of hopeless situations into a life of hope and purpose.
A church that is raising up a generation of godly leaders who will influence our nation.
A church that is going around the world to spread the Good News of Jesus.
A church that starts many other churches to impact South Hampton Roads for Christ.
A church full of committed followers of Christ who will do whatever it takes to connect people with God through faith, hope, and love.
This is the kind of church we desire to be. And by God's grace we will see our dream come true for God's glory!
